<br />
Hope you are well and surviving lockdown. I haven’t posted in ages I know but came up with the simple tutorial I just had to share. <br />
<br />
You will need: scrap patterned paper, 1 inch circle punch, clamp, water spritzer, metal plates.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vCiqGgiEvqk/XrQrmld--oI/AAAAAAAAAfI/3-igbd8YjbAsqTFsWcQcC-MJH2_L3LE1QCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/C0F10142-196A-4071-99A5-05E4228B444E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vCiqGgiEvqk/XrQrmld--oI/AAAAAAAAAfI/3-igbd8YjbAsqTFsWcQcC-MJH2_L3LE1QCNcBGAsYHQ/s320/C0F10142-196A-4071-99A5-05E4228B444E.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
Step 1: punch out circles from your scrap paper using your paper punch (alternatively cut out circles by hand).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--X-ERBV_wZQ/XrQsqe7ZKwI/AAAAAAAAAf8/LM73npIqp38gcx_uLl14dglgw88SrO0CgCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/B24653CB-66DD-40C3-84D2-35A44C4309C2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--X-ERBV_wZQ/XrQsqe7ZKwI/AAAAAAAAAf8/LM73npIqp38gcx_uLl14dglgw88SrO0CgCNcBGAsYHQ/s320/B24653CB-66DD-40C3-84D2-35A44C4309C2.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 2: spritz your punched circles with water.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zu7rvJ8-VjA/XrQs7gD-69I/AAAAAAAAAgI/sICdgBVY3bouOwy1fmTmkRLxMqM5UA8lwCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/36045462-2133-4E0F-B038-26FCC8A3C0BE.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="538" data-original-width="1600" height="107" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zu7rvJ8-VjA/XrQs7gD-69I/AAAAAAAAAgI/sICdgBVY3bouOwy1fmTmkRLxMqM5UA8lwCNcBGAsYHQ/s320/36045462-2133-4E0F-B038-26FCC8A3C0BE.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 3: you will now use your metal plates as moulds to form the circles into plate shapes. Simply stack them up plate, paper, plate, paper, plate. Always starting and ending with a plate. I have 6 plates so I can mould 5 plates at a time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--ZmGx9vI4Pw/XrQtVkNcufI/AAAAAAAAAgg/r0LXM7z4TLw_gFNBm4Cwquyuk77bGk3YgCEwYBhgL/s1600/10776E8F-D503-4F15-8387-4D56FF5DF26C.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="985" data-original-width="1600" height="196" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--ZmGx9vI4Pw/XrQtVkNcufI/AAAAAAAAAgg/r0LXM7z4TLw_gFNBm4Cwquyuk77bGk3YgCEwYBhgL/s320/10776E8F-D503-4F15-8387-4D56FF5DF26C.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 4: use a mini clamp to squash the stack together. Leave overnight to dry. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oPJjt2wrx2Y/XrQtYBqaLxI/AAAAAAAAAgg/0uuJomR31CUcwayVEZhFvFm_0QCx5ZwwgCEwYBhgL/s1600/151F9C69-3C5F-48B2-B9FC-F967148B2D61.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1309" data-original-width="1600" height="261" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oPJjt2wrx2Y/XrQtYBqaLxI/AAAAAAAAAgg/0uuJomR31CUcwayVEZhFvFm_0QCx5ZwwgCEwYBhgL/s320/151F9C69-3C5F-48B2-B9FC-F967148B2D61.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 5 take apart your clamped plates. They should be dry and look like this. You can now use them in your 1/12 scenes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have been working on my cottage in between setting up my website for the </span><a href="http://wondersinminiaturepromotions.weebly.com/shows.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">mini miniature show</span></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> which is taking place on 11th to 14th of August online. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">As for the cottage, firstly I painted the ceiling of the main part of the cottage. I used 2 coats of emulsion paint which I applied with a make-up sponge. They don't give you brush marks which would look wrong in such a small scale. When it was dry I sanded it using a piece of <a href="http://www.toolpost.co.uk/pages/Abrasives/Abranet/abranet.html" target="_blank">abranet</a>, it gives the paint a nice smooth finish.</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lvh_XgOh5IU/V6iUJYOfZnI/AAAAAAAAAaE/mwdg5ceB3QYmoR0plIDbucNsDytJEUOqwCLcB/s1600/SM%2B12.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lvh_XgOh5IU/V6iUJYOfZnI/AAAAAAAAAaE/mwdg5ceB3QYmoR0plIDbucNsDytJEUOqwCLcB/s320/SM%2B12.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I added wallpaper to the back and side of the main part of the cottage. Ensuring to leave gaps where the pieces would be stuck to their neighbours.</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f0n61DbJtL0/V6iUJkLECZI/AAAAAAAAAaA/RrbPqD02ddAPf2D7nxkkzkeYl8cEtIvkgCEw/s1600/SM%2B14.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f0n61DbJtL0/V6iUJkLECZI/AAAAAAAAAaA/RrbPqD02ddAPf2D7nxkkzkeYl8cEtIvkgCEw/s320/SM%2B14.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I stuck these 3 pieces onto the main carcass and clamped in place until dry. Those clamps are one of my most used mini tools. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span>

<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Its starting to come together don't you think?</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Thanks for bearing with me. I wanted to share with you my latest project. Its from a kit by <a href="http://www.petite-properties.com/" target="_blank">petite properties</a>. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ntBdkf7J-GQ/V6XWq9gqAyI/AAAAAAAAAYw/13SwxUcSKPozRFvZl8DzGMuge3dqpX4WACEw/s1600/SM%2B1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ntBdkf7J-GQ/V6XWq9gqAyI/AAAAAAAAAYw/13SwxUcSKPozRFvZl8DzGMuge3dqpX4WACEw/s320/SM%2B1.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I have made their kits in the past. The reason I like them so much is that they are laser cut so all the pieces fit together exactly. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I started by assembling the main body of the house to see how it went together. I kept the pieces in place using masking tape. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VXTCv2Y-9UA/V6XWrQplIDI/AAAAAAAAAY4/0IyoOi3gOZEVMZ1kG291xfiPTYQggkQZgCEw/s1600/SM%2B2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VXTCv2Y-9UA/V6XWrQplIDI/AAAAAAAAAY4/0IyoOi3gOZEVMZ1kG291xfiPTYQggkQZgCEw/s320/SM%2B2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6koaaeBf4zQ/V6XWrY62tFI/AAAAAAAAAY0/xGb4-VlIeewGpnz18op7kAUEtMQ3qLcxwCEw/s1600/SM%2B3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6koaaeBf4zQ/V6XWrY62tFI/AAAAAAAAAY0/xGb4-VlIeewGpnz18op7kAUEtMQ3qLcxwCEw/s320/SM%2B3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">While the pieces were together I used my pencil to carefully mark where they met so I knew where not to stick any wall paper or flooring paper. I prefer to paper these small kits before assembly as its easier to access.</span> </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rBjn_Po6U0M/V6XXGnzL53I/AAAAAAAAAZA/A3mw4FRm1GEsBfov7TBsDqL_w29mXpWRQCEw/s1600/SM%2B4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rBjn_Po6U0M/V6XXGnzL53I/AAAAAAAAAZA/A3mw4FRm1GEsBfov7TBsDqL_w29mXpWRQCEw/s320/SM%2B4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GN5ZpwdmltU/V6XXGTOfLUI/AAAAAAAAAY8/h75MoRCdPeoCBdj7PWb-qWGlaVAE0qS-wCEw/s1600/SM%2B5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GN5ZpwdmltU/V6XXGTOfLUI/AAAAAAAAAY8/h75MoRCdPeoCBdj7PWb-qWGlaVAE0qS-wCEw/s320/SM%2B5.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I started with the flooring. I printed some I had found online and stuck it to the floor using a glue stick.</span> </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CLNNGmIFNIs/V6XX2WWZNvI/AAAAAAAAAZM/FSofBsm5hlk6P_DJ-AfxdDn9uYomnX7IwCLcB/s1600/SM%2B6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CLNNGmIFNIs/V6XX2WWZNvI/AAAAAAAAAZM/FSofBsm5hlk6P_DJ-AfxdDn9uYomnX7IwCLcB/s320/SM%2B6.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then I flipped it onto the back and cut around the base piece of MDF using a craft knife. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HR5mwlxj2Xg/V6XX2vy9JHI/AAAAAAAAAZU/oVL4FWLJqxIHWaK3R8PB6iGo3lgl5wKwgCEw/s1600/SM%2B7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HR5mwlxj2Xg/V6XX2vy9JHI/AAAAAAAAAZU/oVL4FWLJqxIHWaK3R8PB6iGo3lgl5wKwgCEw/s320/SM%2B7.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">At this point I realised I had not left the gaps for sticking I should have so tried to cut them into the parquet paper on the left. I messed it up... doh! So I replace it with some tiled effect paper instead. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RjraU0xoFR0/V6XX2ssELLI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/f3xAHRRuZ586GQTGOJw5QPJIOx7QdZ6VACEw/s1600/SM%2B8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RjraU0xoFR0/V6XX2ssELLI/AAAAAAAAAZQ/f3xAHRRuZ586GQTGOJw5QPJIOx7QdZ6VACEw/s320/SM%2B8.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I chose some wall paper from some scrap booking papers. You can find suitable patterns in the 6x6 scrapbook paper books.</span> </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZS4lkDvRQT0/V6XYh9-fwrI/AAAAAAAAAZg/Lbv2BybnLssrEtqD3991zezOZJ01hVngwCEw/s1600/SM%2B9.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZS4lkDvRQT0/V6XYh9-fwrI/AAAAAAAAAZg/Lbv2BybnLssrEtqD3991zezOZJ01hVngwCEw/s320/SM%2B9.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I used them to cover the interior of the left porch side of the cottage. I did it the same way as I did the flooring. The largest wall needed covering on both sides. </span></div>

<br />
I thought I would share with you my latest mini make. It is a 1/48 scale greenhouse I made from a kit by petite properties.<br />
<br />

<br />
I added my own plant racking on the right of the door and made the seed trays from a kit by Jane harrop.<br />
<br />
http://www.janeharrop.co.uk/48th_kits.html<br />
<br />
It was a really simple kit to make up and lots of fun. I decided to make it look a bit run down, mainly after smudging glue on the windows, so dirtied my initial paint job up a bit. <br />
<br />
<br />
If any of you have any tips or links for making 1/48 plants or accessories please let me know.<br />
<br />
Take care<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Just a quick update in case you were wondering whats going on with my blog. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">While looking through my old posts I discovered that I had lost a LOT of my photographs. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I think it coincides with me using the blogpress app to write my posts. I don't use this anymore and couldn't recover my files as the app support site was a nonsense!!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Anyway I have found SOME of my photographs so have put back what I could and edited/removed the parts I could not.</span><br />

<br />
I thought I would share with you my latest project. I saw this great picture online from the Brambly hedge series of books and loved the over sized dresser.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O0O73Rmg3RY/V6C_3-w_8cI/AAAAAAAAAXQ/D09TkQCbUvwZ9pEaOYvNXQ6Oy3naySyVACLcB/s320/brambly%2Bhedge%2Bdresser%2Billustration.jpg" width="255" /></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I had a dresser which had lost its doors, sorry but I didn't take a photo of it before I started to take it apart. I must remember to do that in the future.<br />
<br />
I used 2mm card stock to build up the height and used a lot of the original shelves as well as building in some more of my own. I painted it in matt ivory emulsion to match my previous shabby display cupboard and used the same pins as door knobs. All of the drawers were made by me and all open. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8JjF1r0u5HI/V6C7DUSek5I/AAAAAAAAAW4/8iey-hgMoQ4/s640/blogger-image--684753066.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8JjF1r0u5HI/V6C7DUSek5I/AAAAAAAAAW4/8iey-hgMoQ4/s640/blogger-image--684753066.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>
<br /></center>
<br />
<br />
I found a great online tutorial by Lesley Shepherd for making a mouse which was really easy to follow. <br />
<br />
http://miniatures.about.com/od/makeminiatureanimals/ss/Sew-A-Miniature-Felt-Mouse.htm<br />
<br />
I hope to add more to the dresser and mouse.<br />
<br />
Hope you like them ;0) <br />

<br />
It struck me that I had not shown you all the jewellery shop display I made for a club project. I think it was because I struggled to take a decent picture of it, but as I have one now here goes. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z2k2X3Ci2b8/V6C6mwv4MeI/AAAAAAAAAW0/YvVMycdAgDA/s640/blogger-image--619917895.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z2k2X3Ci2b8/V6C6mwv4MeI/AAAAAAAAAW0/YvVMycdAgDA/s640/blogger-image--619917895.jpg" /></a></div>
</center>
<br />
<br />
I made the jewellery busts ,myself, casting them ( you can see how in a previous post) and made all of the jewellery displays myself, just bought the mini bits for the jewellery from http://www.teepeecrafts.co.uk/<br />
<br />
Hope you like it.<br />

<br />
I wanted to share with you our club night project from last month. We were taught to make this adorable miniature Red Riding opening book. <br />
<br />
The book is made from a metal book box you can buy from teepee crafts. We were given the print outs to cover our book boxes with.<br />
<br />
<br />
<center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9_0hWVxcQA0/V6C3t04bBFI/AAAAAAAAAWU/gKIU9VkwT9Y/s640/blogger-image--842516872.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="262" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9_0hWVxcQA0/V6C3t04bBFI/AAAAAAAAAWU/gKIU9VkwT9Y/s400/blogger-image--842516872.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</center>
<br />
<br />
If you open up the book inside is a tiny scene with a teeny tiny mouse dressed as red riding hood. The mouse is made from a cocktail stick believe it or not with flock for fur and dressed in paper clothes.<br />
<br />
<br />
<center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pKLxP5PXx60/V6C3u8VMKvI/AAAAAAAAAWY/ZEuNMpYU2uM/s640/blogger-image-868479538.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pKLxP5PXx60/V6C3u8VMKvI/AAAAAAAAAWY/ZEuNMpYU2uM/s400/blogger-image-868479538.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
</center>
<br />
<br />
Overall it was a really challenging project with lots of intricate work but I love how it has turned out. <br />
<br />
Next month at club it is my turn to teach the project. We will be making a push along toy dog like the one shown below. <br />
<br />
<br />
<center>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cQ8ff-EzWkk/V6C3v4nGbcI/AAAAAAAAAWc/cw720-syeb0/s640/blogger-image-863785346.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cQ8ff-EzWkk/V6C3v4nGbcI/AAAAAAAAAWc/cw720-syeb0/s400/blogger-image-863785346.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</center>
<br />
<br />
Hope you like my mini book. I hope to put on instructions for making the push along dogs. Just need to take a couple more pictures. <br />
<br />
Take care<br />

<br>
It seems like ages since my last post but I have been working on a project to share with you all. Hopefully I will get it completed and photographed this week during half term.<br>
<br>
<br>
In other news my sister encouraged my to list something to sell on eBay today. It has been a long time since I listed anything so I only put on one item to see how it goes. I thought I would share it with you too.<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-s2egTSRPrX0/VWLxbTox9OI/AAAAAAAAARw/Mye10nssJgY/s640/blogger-image--941612346.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-s2egTSRPrX0/VWLxbTox9OI/AAAAAAAAARw/Mye10nssJgY/s640/blogger-image--941612346.jpg"></a></div><br>
I turned the miniature wand by hand and also made the wand box myself. The potion jars you can see in the background were also made by me. </div><div><br></div><div>I hope you like them all.</div><div><br></div><div>Take care</div><div><br></div><div>Natalie x<br><br></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1653970527547953218.post-47253899664332596152015-02-15T09:58:00.001-08:002016-08-02T08:51:38.497-07:001/12 basket and thermosHi all,<br />
<br />
I thought I would share with you a project I ran at my dolls house club this week. We made a 1/12 basket using a project from Jane Harrop.<br />

<br />
I adapted mine to include a lid and wire handles and designed the thermos flask to go with it.<br />

<br />
It seems like ages since my last post but I have been busy decorating my full size house. I wish I could say it was all done, but at least i've done a couple of rooms. <br />
<center>
<br /></center>
I also had a major dolls house disaster, I fell off some ladders and managed to pull my toy shop down on top of me as I fell. Though I was bruised and battered with a black eye to boot my toy shop came off worse, almost every tile came off the roof, the attic window came off as did a bay window, it really is in a sorry state. Many of the bits inside were also broken in the fall :0(<br />
<br />
One of those bits was a display cabinet, this is what it looked like before the fall.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y9IprUpBCM0/V6DAecio3tI/AAAAAAAAAXU/nUC-zLqvXTEgmKrzsfdIqE7UttWZn6YXACLcB/s1600/shabby%2Bcupboard%2Bbefore%2Bpic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y9IprUpBCM0/V6DAecio3tI/AAAAAAAAAXU/nUC-zLqvXTEgmKrzsfdIqE7UttWZn6YXACLcB/s320/shabby%2Bcupboard%2Bbefore%2Bpic.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It had come apart into all it's component pieces but was remarkably not broken. As I looked at it trying to decide what to do inspiration hit. I used my trusty mini drill with sanding bit to sand each piece back to the bare wood as well as good old elbow grease and sandpaper. <br />
<br />
Then I painted each piece with ivory emulsion paint. I sanded again and used abranet to give it a smooth finish. I covered the base with a patterned paper and cut a piece of card to fit the back which I also covered with the same paper. Then I put it back together..... that was the hardest part!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nWRYZ6RXFBk/V6DAqOW4QvI/AAAAAAAAAXg/UikAkSUTZVMpqNBPn3tey25hcgaNWd6-ACLcB/s1600/shabby%2Bcupboard%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nWRYZ6RXFBk/V6DAqOW4QvI/AAAAAAAAAXg/UikAkSUTZVMpqNBPn3tey25hcgaNWd6-ACLcB/s320/shabby%2Bcupboard%2B1.jpg" width="261" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l6JtVzzt8vE/V6DApxVusII/AAAAAAAAAXc/WI9rFibB0AEVETSPSgvCVpQJst758rvTQCLcB/s1600/shabby%2Bcupboard%2B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l6JtVzzt8vE/V6DApxVusII/AAAAAAAAAXc/WI9rFibB0AEVETSPSgvCVpQJst758rvTQCLcB/s320/shabby%2Bcupboard%2B2.jpg" width="245" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I used some jewellery pins I had to replace the gold knobs that came with the cabinet and I also replaced the front Perspex as it had become scratched. <br />
<br />
It has a little wobble, but I love it. :0) <br />
<br />
I hope you like it too.<br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I can't believe I have 99 followers. Thank you all so much for sticking with my blog and the lovely comments you leave me. I am currently on my easter break from school so looking forward to some miniing and will hopefully upload a DIY project for you to have a go at too. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">My latest mini is a set of tea, coffee and sugar canisters. They are made from cardboard tubes and open so you can put things inside. I have covered them in a Cath Kidston style paper for that shabby chic look. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Hope you like them xx</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Our latest club project involves using a box file to create a scene. Hence the question.... what can you do with a box file?</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pvUxKl34Ajw/T2W7oMiGulI/AAAAAAAAAPo/vQliWTa_6Hk/s1600/box+file.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pvUxKl34Ajw/T2W7oMiGulI/AAAAAAAAAPo/vQliWTa_6Hk/s320/box+file.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Everyone was given a box like e one above. After much deliberating I decided to make a shabby chic scene inside mine. I chose some suitable wallpaper and stuck that on. I used lollipop sticks to make a shabby tongue and groove along the bottom with some wooden trim as a small ledge. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wT_s0ztsVtk/T2W7tVvjZPI/AAAAAAAAAPw/0beMN8Oquuk/s1600/shabby+chic+box+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="404" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wT_s0ztsVtk/T2W7tVvjZPI/AAAAAAAAAPw/0beMN8Oquuk/s640/shabby+chic+box+1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">All of the wood has been painted and then sanded back to give it the shabby appearance.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I tiled the base and intended to continue tiling the rest but came across a problem in terms of opening and closing the box so I used a piece of white felt to represent carpet to cover the remainder. This way I can close the box for storage. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0jaj8tW2K_A/T2W7zsMKmwI/AAAAAAAAAP4/A_0qDZRL3NA/s1600/shabby+chic+box+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="472" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0jaj8tW2K_A/T2W7zsMKmwI/AAAAAAAAAP4/A_0qDZRL3NA/s640/shabby+chic+box+2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It also struck me that this would be a good way to make scenes for photographing minis for sale. You can fold away the box file and store it easily, plus the scene will not get damaged. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I need to make some more bits and pieces for the scene so will let you know how it comes along. </span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">At our recent club meeting we all started to make trunks. We were given a pattern and a piece of 1m thick card. I was a bit unsure about the card at first as it was quite difficult to cut, but after I put my trunk pieces together I found that it could be sanded like wood. It also takes paint really well and sticks well too so I will be using it again, if I can find some more that is!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I only finished the basic trunk at the club so after I brought it home I continued to work on it. It was supposed to have a domed top but I didn't really like how that looked so I made a flat top. I decided to cover it with some lovely snake skin effect paper I bought a while ago and I trimmed it with pieces of brown leather.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Here is the finished trunk...</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1_l5TF-jHIw/TzuQPXoiEYI/AAAAAAAAAPU/JSLFTvSumvE/s1600/wizard+trunk+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1_l5TF-jHIw/TzuQPXoiEYI/AAAAAAAAAPU/JSLFTvSumvE/s320/wizard+trunk+4.jpg" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It has a leather buckle at the front to keep it closed.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qzlgkfckybc/TzuP-jz6JQI/AAAAAAAAAO8/dHXeyrANXTg/s1600/wizard+trunk+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qzlgkfckybc/TzuP-jz6JQI/AAAAAAAAAO8/dHXeyrANXTg/s320/wizard+trunk+1.jpg" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It has handles on each side for carrying.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3gDGSMY0zxU/TzuQGX03O2I/AAAAAAAAAPE/kCqnEuS1Xs8/s1600/wizard+trunk+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3gDGSMY0zxU/TzuQGX03O2I/AAAAAAAAAPE/kCqnEuS1Xs8/s320/wizard+trunk+2.jpg" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">As you can see it opens up and there is a place to hold little items in the lid. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jk8NWPQ1SWY/TzuSrRRl9oI/AAAAAAAAAPc/3Nf5m0zceG8/s1600/wizard+trunk+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="301" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jk8NWPQ1SWY/TzuSrRRl9oI/AAAAAAAAAPc/3Nf5m0zceG8/s320/wizard+trunk+5.jpg" width="320" yda="true" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">There is also a tray which fits snugly into the top of the trunk which can hold little bits and pieces.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I will show you some more pictures when I have made some things to put inside the trunk. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I havent really made many minis recently, not helped by the fact I broke my finger last week so it is all strapped up. Luckily I can still type, and use my camera. My sister made me a rug for my Hagrids hut a while back and I have finally got round to taking a picture of it to show you all. I tried to take one in situ but it didn't come out well so here is the best picture I could take. I hope you like the rug.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">By the time you read this it will probably be 2012 so HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! I hope it brigs you everything you wish for.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I bought a 1/48th kit at the Pudsey fair in November from <a href="http://www.petite-properties.com/">Petite properties</a>. It is my project for 2012 so will show you my progress as I go along. This is what the completed project should look like from the outside (from the petite properties website), though I will probably make some changes.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vvIeyYSoOaw/Tv8hAzSDQhI/AAAAAAAAAOE/o_NgBzoQsMo/s1600/petite+properties+148th.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" rea="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vvIeyYSoOaw/Tv8hAzSDQhI/AAAAAAAAAOE/o_NgBzoQsMo/s400/petite+properties+148th.jpg" width="340" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Having never made anything in 1/48th scale before I had a play around to see how I would cope with making furniture for the interior. Here is what I have made. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8txATDeZxmc/Tv8h0_IS-ZI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/oOt8kfGqxSY/s1600/1+48th+striped+knole+sofa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="144" rea="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8txATDeZxmc/Tv8h0_IS-ZI/AAAAAAAAAOQ/oOt8kfGqxSY/s320/1+48th+striped+knole+sofa.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Though they are small they were fun to make. Hope you like them.</span><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have been playing around with a needle punch tool I bought a while back. I designed some simple rugs and made them. It is really quite an easy process, you just have to check you don't have any bare patches as you go.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">This is the first one I made:</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nYKpZ-9rHCI/TtYSWaHl1tI/AAAAAAAAANI/cE1BVqhnOLI/s1600/black+and+white+rug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="175" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nYKpZ-9rHCI/TtYSWaHl1tI/AAAAAAAAANI/cE1BVqhnOLI/s400/black+and+white+rug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
<div align="left"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then I got a bit more adventurous and made this one:</span></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PwZY5rWEo2I/TtYSaobNe3I/AAAAAAAAANQ/2P83JQTBRxA/s1600/leaf+rug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="191" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PwZY5rWEo2I/TtYSaobNe3I/AAAAAAAAANQ/2P83JQTBRxA/s400/leaf+rug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The most recent one I have made is for Christmas:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u1xq8BLIPlo/TtYSgs8xv4I/AAAAAAAAANY/Kh3T6lS660U/s1600/snowman+rug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dda="true" height="177" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u1xq8BLIPlo/TtYSgs8xv4I/AAAAAAAAANY/Kh3T6lS660U/s400/snowman+rug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hope you like them</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I wanted to share with you my latest mini make. I made some wands a while back but only recently made some boxes to put them in. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4koLwgClCiA/TtDsl1-fdQI/AAAAAAAAAM4/xK8WiYi1L38/s1600/wands+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hda="true" height="186" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4koLwgClCiA/TtDsl1-fdQI/AAAAAAAAAM4/xK8WiYi1L38/s320/wands+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I had to find some suitable paper to make the box from and experiment with how to age it as well as make a template for the box and the lid. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Here is one of the finished wands in its box complete with Ollivanders label... all set for Diagon Alley. </span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hope you like it</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Today I had a mooch around the charity shops, in the past I have found some great craft and minis books as well as items I can use in my mini projects. An old jewellery box caught my eye. It was only a couple of quid and it was made from wood unlike others I have seen which are plastic. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ogtxTAvdil0/TqmxJ2sf77I/AAAAAAAAALQ/AGaNdLKQjVY/s1600/cupboard+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ida="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ogtxTAvdil0/TqmxJ2sf77I/AAAAAAAAALQ/AGaNdLKQjVY/s320/cupboard+1.jpg" width="290" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">When I got it home I started by taking the cupboard apart and then ripping out all of the faded grey lining, then I got out my sander and started to sand back all of the varnished areas. My plan was to turn it into a shabby chic display cupboard so I wanted a good surface to paint on. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">However....once I had sanded it all back I decided that the overall design of the cupboard was not really chabby chic. The shape of the windows was more gothic. Plus I really liked the look of the sanded back wood. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I found some matching wood and made a a shelf half way up and then made some plinths on top of the shelves. I used a neutral brushing wax over the entire piece. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4-Hs6bmz0t8/TqmxQS0OScI/AAAAAAAAALY/ZkEx7Kbuqew/s1600/cupboard+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ida="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4-Hs6bmz0t8/TqmxQS0OScI/AAAAAAAAALY/ZkEx7Kbuqew/s320/cupboard+2.jpg" width="278" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I replaced the etched glass in the doors with 1mm perspex sheet and put it back together. I removed part of the door handles. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">I decided to put all of my turned pieces I have been collecting inside it. </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ff0VbdntSxw/TqmxWuOWbqI/AAAAAAAAALg/7VK6LAjvtBY/s1600/cupboard+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" ida="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ff0VbdntSxw/TqmxWuOWbqI/AAAAAAAAALg/7VK6LAjvtBY/s400/cupboard+3.jpg" width="315" /></a></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">As you can see there is a little drawer underneath. I lined it with red sticky back flock material. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">Here is a close up of the bottom shelf.</span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I really like how it has turned out. </span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
