Mini Picture Frame - Tutorial

Hi all, I thought I would share with you how I made mini picture frames for the 1/12 scale pictures I painted.

You will need some thick card, or mount board, some thin card.  A ruler and craft knife or scissors, some glue and finally some edging scissors with a fancy blade.

First mark out the size of your frame on the piece of thick card.

Then cut this out.  I used the ruler and craft knife to keep the edges straight.

Now use the edging scissors to cut strips of fancy edging from the thin card.  Cut 2mm strips from this card as well.
Now stick the fancy strips to the card frame, mitering the corners.

Then do the same with the 2mm card strips. You can make it as fancy or simple as you like at this point.

Finally paint the frame.  You can use  whatever paints you like.  I have used both gold and white crackle spray paint.

You can make the frames in whatever design you like, the only limit is your imagination.....

  3. Hi Natalie,I discovered your tutorial on Pinterest. It is great! The frames are beautiful with the crackle-paint finish. I am going to try it out. I made a tutorial myself about frames but I used ribbon instead. If you would like to see my tutorial, you are very welcome; liduina88@blogspot.com
